Many lash artists find classic lashes challenging to apply due to the 1:1 ratio of natural lash to extension. Essentially, the extension can be attached above, below, or to the side of the natural lash, but this is basic knowledge once you've completed a course. However, the key lies in the application technique and the type of lashes utilized.
Classic vs Flat
When I began doing lash extensions, I was trained using the traditional classic lash style, which has a more rounded base. Due to this shape, it can be challenging for the natural lash to properly grip the extension, leading to premature shedding.
Through time and research, I discovered flat lashes, which are essentially traditional lashes with a flat base, hence the name.
Due to its flat base, this type of extension simplifies the application process onto the natural lash by securely adhering to it.

While you might believe that is the sole solution required, that is not accurate. The way in which you apply the glue to the extension significantly influences its bonding with the natural lash.
To dip the flat extension into your glue ring or tile, carefully pull it towards you with a precise movement. A small bubble should form at the base of the extension. Make sure the lash extension is not overly saturated with glue to avoid prolonging the drying time.

I hope this helps you in figuring out how to better place your classic lash extensions. Happy lashing!
